Bellaire Varsity’s battle with rival Lamar ends in 4-4 draw, but Texans win penalties 5-4

January 29, 2021 – They call it a rivalry game for a reason. Bellaire Varsity’s match against Lamar ends in a 4-4 draw after an exciting back-and-forth battle at Delmar Stadium. Lamar wins PKs 5-4. Seniors Filmon Abrenaa and Ron Masti, junior Tristan Morales, and sophomore Quinten Latchett had goals for the Cardinals. Sophomore Carter Sasser had two assists.

Bellaire is now 2-2-2 on the season. In District 18-6A play, games that end in a draw go to penalties. The winning team receives two points and the losing team gets one point. Varsity is now 2-2-2 on the season. In district play, Varsity is 0-0-2 with 2 points.
