Bellaire High School boys varsity soccer team clinches district championship with win over Westside
March 11, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity scored early in the first half and held on to beat Westside 2-1 at Dyer Stadium. The win clinched back-to-back District 18-6A championships for the Cardinals. Jake Loor and Angel Rubi scored goals. Bellaire finished district play with a 9-3 record and ended the regular season 14-6-1.
Bellaire boys JV soccer beat Westside 1-0 to finish with an undefeated 11-0 record in district play. Carter Sasser scored on a solo corner kick goal in the 2nd half to put the Cardinals on top. With the win, Bellaire JV finishes the season with a 15-2 record.
Bellaire Varsity bounced back from consecutive losses to beat Westbury 4-0 at Butler Field. Jake Loor scored two goals for the Cardinals. Dany Ramirez and Tristan Morales also scored. The win improved Bellaire Varsity to 8-3 in District 18-6A play with one regular season game remaining. Meanwhile, Bellaire JV won its 10th consecutive game in
Bellaire High School’s boys JV team improved to 9-0 in District 18-6A play with a 2-0 victory at Chavez. Rishi Venkateswaran and David Salazar had goals for the Cardinals. Bellaire JV is now 13-2 for the season and play rival Westbury JV Saturday at Westbury.
Sam Houston’s go-ahead goal with less than one minute left in regulation gave Bellaire Varsity a tough 4-3 loss at Butler Stadium. Bellaire Varsity suffered a tight 1-0 loss to Chavez at Dyer Stadium. The match was scoreless at halftime, but Chavez scored the game winner midway through the second half. February 25-26, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity completed the season sweep over Lamar with a win on penalties at Dyer Stadium. The Cardinals ended regulation tied 2-2 after goals from Dany Ramirez and Ron Masti, and then completed the victory with a 6-5 win during penalties.
