Bellaire High School boys varsity soccer team clinches district championship with win over Westside


March 11, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity scored early in the first half and held on to beat Westside 2-1 at Dyer Stadium. The win clinched back-to-back District 18-6A championships for the Cardinals. Jake Loor and Angel Rubi scored goals.  Bellaire finished district play with a 9-3 record and ended the regular season 14-6-1.

Bellaire JV completes perfect season in District 18-6A

March 12, 2020 –– Bellaire boys JV soccer beat Westside 1-0 to finish with an undefeated 11-0 record in district play. Carter Sasser scored on a solo corner kick goal in the 2nd half to put the Cardinals on top.  With the win, Bellaire JV finishes the season with a 15-2 record.

Bellaire High School boys soccer win matches against Westbury

March 7, 2020 –– Bellaire Varsity bounced back from consecutive losses to beat Westbury 4-0 at Butler Field. Jake Loor scored two goals for the Cardinals. Dany Ramirez and Tristan Morales also scored. The win improved Bellaire Varsity to 8-3 in District 18-6A play with one regular season game remaining.

Meanwhile, Bellaire JV won its 10th consecutive game in district play with a 4-1 win at Westbury JV. Irgen Soeriawinata, Jorge Rosales and Fitsum Fiseha all scored goals for the Cardinals.  Bellaire JV is now 10-0 in district and 14-2 for the season.

Bellaire JV extends unbeaten streak in district

March 5, 2020 — Bellaire High School’s boys JV team improved to 9-0 in District 18-6A play with a 2-0 victory at Chavez. Rishi Venkateswaran and David Salazar had goals for the Cardinals. Bellaire JV is now 13-2 for the season and play rival Westbury JV Saturday at Westbury.

 

 

Bellaire Varsity suffers tough loss on Senior Night

March 3, 2020 — Sam Houston’s go-ahead goal with less than one minute left in regulation gave Bellaire Varsity a tough 4-3 loss at Butler Stadium. Before the winning goal, Bellaire senior Shaked Masti had evened the game with a beautiful chip shot with just more than one minute left in the match. Juniors Angel Rubi and Ron Masti also had goals for the Cardinals.

Despite the loss, eight Cardinals celebrated Senior Night with their families before the game. Bellaire Varsity is now 7-3 in District 18-6A play with two games remaining in the regular season.

Bellaire Varsity drops district game against Chavez

March 2, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity suffered a tight 1-0 loss to Chavez at Dyer Stadium. The match was scoreless at halftime, but Chavez scored the game winner midway through the second half.  Bellaire Varsity drops to 7-2 in District 18-6A, but still has a chance to win the district championship. The Cardinals will celebrate Senior Night against Sam Houston at 7pm Tuesday, March 3 at Butler Stadium.

Bellaire High School boys soccer teams beat Lamar to stay on top of District 18-6A

February 25-26, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity completed the season sweep over Lamar with a win on penalties at Dyer Stadium. The Cardinals ended regulation tied 2-2 after goals from Dany Ramirez and Ron Masti, and then completed the victory with a 6-5 win during penalties. Bellaire Varsity remains on top of the district standings with a 7-1 record.

Bellaire JV also finished a season sweep against Lamar JV with a 4-2 win at Pin Oak Middle School. Quinten Latchett had a hat trick for the Cardinals. Christian Martinez scored the other goal after an assist by Carter Sasser.  Bellaire JV remains undefeated in district with an 8-0 record.

Bellaire High School boys soccer completes season sweep over Heights

February 21-22, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity beat Heights 5-2 at Butler Stadium to stay at the top of the District 18-6A standings. Angel Rubi, Shaked Masti, Ricky Kai, Ron Masti, and Ariel Karni had goals for the Cardinals. Bellaire Varsity is now 6-1 in district play.

Meanwhile, Bellaire JV remained undefeated in district with a 3-0 win over Heights at Heights High School. Rishi Venkateswaran had two goals and Diego Montesinos added another. Gabe Garcia-Fayos and David Salazar had assists. Bellaire JV improves to 7-0 in district and 11-2-0 for the season.

February 14, 2020 —  After suffering its first district loss earlier in the week, Bellaire High School Varsity soccer bounced back and beat Westside 4-1 at Butler Stadium on Valentine’s Day. Seniors Dany Ramirez, Shaked Masti, and Alejandrio Sanchez scored goals for the Cardinals.  Bellaire Varsity remains tied for first place with a 5-1 record in District 18-6A.

Meanwhile, Bellaire boys JV soccer stayed unbeaten in district with a 2-0 victory against Westside JV at Westside High School. Freshman Carter Sasser and sophomore Alec Wigderson scored.  Bellaire JV is now 6-0 in district and 10-2-0 for the season.

Bellaire boys soccer teams split matches against Westbury

February 12, 2020 –– Bellaire High School Varsity soccer lost its first district game to Westbury, but JV beat the Huskies and improves to 5-0 in district.

Bellaire Varsity lost 2-1 to Westbury at Butler Stadium. Junior Ron Masti scored the goal for the Cardinals. Despite the loss, Bellaire remains at the top of District 18-6A with a 4-1 district record.

February 7, 2020 — Bellaire Boys Varsity and JV soccer remain undefeated after both teams secured wins against Chavez High School.

Bellaire Varsity beat Chavez 2-1 in a close match-up at Barnett Stadium. Junior forward Ron Masti scored both goals for the Cardinals.  Bellaire Varsity is now 4-0 in district and 9-3-1 for the season.

Bellaire JV also improved to 4-0 in district with a 2-0 victory at Chavez. Freshmen Quinten Latchett and Atianam Assefa scored goals.  Bellaire boys JV has an 8-2-0 season record.

Bellaire High School brothers sign letters of intent to play soccer at Coastal Bend College

February 6, 2020 –– Bellaire High School soccer seniors Alex and Julio Coreas celebrated national signing day by signing letters of intent to play soccer for Coastal Bend College.  Alex is starting goalkeeper for the Cardinals and Julio holds down the defense at center back.

“They are exceptional examples of what it means to play and live #CardinalProud,” says Bellaire High School Soccer Head Coach Jeremy Rodgers. “We’re very proud of these two senior athletes.”

The brothers joined dozens of other future college athletes at a signing ceremony held by HISD Athletics. Coastal Bend College participates in NJCAA soccer and is located in Beeville, Texas.

Bellaire JV wins at Sam Houston, extends unbeaten streak in District 18-6A

February 6, 2020 — Bellaire JV soccer beat Sam Houston JV 3-1 in a district match-up at Burbank Middle School. Freshmen Quinten Latchett, Gabe Garcia-Fayos, and Diego Montesinos scored for the Cardinals. Latchett and freshman midfielder Carter Sasser had assists. Bellaire JV is now 3-0 in District and 7-2-0 for the season.

Bellaire Varsity remains undefeated in district with win over Sam Houston

February 4, 2020 — Bellaire High School Varsity soccer beat Sam Houston 2-0 in a district match at Cowart Stadium. It’s the third straight win for the Cardinals and keeps the team undefeated in District 18-6A play.

Junior midfielder Jake Ioor and sophomore midfielder Tristan Morales scored goals. Bellaire Varsity improves to 8-3-1 for the season.

Bellaire Varsity beats Lamar on penalties to stay undefeated in district play

January 31, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity soccer improved to 2-0 in District 18-6A play after outlasting Lamar on penalties at Delmar Stadium. Both teams were scoreless during regulation, but Bellaire won 5-4 in penalties. Bellaire Varsity soccer is now 7-3-1 on the season.

February 1, 2020 — Bellaire JV soccer scored late in the first half and held on to beat Lamar 1-0 at Pin Oak Middle School. Freshman forward Quinten Latchett scored the lone goal with a header after a perfectly-placed assist by sophomore defender Filip Paczkowski. The win improves Bellaire JV soccer to 2-0 in district play and 6-2-0 on the season.

Bellaire sweeps first District 18-6A matches over Heights

January 29, 2020 — Bellaire High School Varsity soccer team kicked off district play with a 2-1 win over Heights at Delmar Stadium.  Junior midfielder Jake Ioor and sophomore midfielder Tristan Morales scored for the Cardinals. Bellaire Varsity is now 6-3-1 on the season.

Bellaire’s JV soccer team also won their opening district match 1-0 over Heights. Freshman midfielder Gabe Garcia-Fayos scored in the final two minutes to earn the victory. The win improves Bellaire JV to 5-2-0.

Bellaire High School boys soccer teams remember classmate Cesar Cortes

January 16, 2020 — Bellaire’s Varsity and JV teams both held moments of silence to remember slain student Cesar Cortes before tournament games at Northshore and Brazosport. The Bellaire soccer family continues to pray for Cesar’s family, friends and classmates.

Bellaire Varsity wins Clear Creek ISD Tournament

January 11, 2020 — Bellaire Varsity went undefeated in the Clear Creek ISD Tournament and won the championship with a 2-0 victory over Clear Creek.
